Falmouth has a long held reputation as an artistic town and it is a reputation that is fully earns. As University College Falmouth continues to move from strength to strength so does the art, music and theatre scene in Cornwall's most popular visitor destination.
Falmouth, Truro and the Roseland have a great range of art galleries as well as vibrant theatre companies who constantly push the boundaries of contemporary theatre to great critical and commercial acclaim.
There's live music on offer at Falmouth's Princess Pavilion and Truro's Hall for Cornwall an in the last year some of the UK's most dynamic artists have played these venues including Kaiser Chiefs, Noah and the Whale and Wild Beasts.
These two venues are also the stage for nights of comedy and 2012 has shows from Jack Dee, Jimmy Carr and Simon Amstel on its agenda.
The region itself is a hotbed of history and has inspired tales that have been told for centuries. Myths echo into the present and the upper reaches of the Fal swim deep in Arthurian legend while over on the Helford, Daphne du Mauriers pages come alive.
What will your story be? Around the Fal River inspiration is never too far away and you'll often find it in the places you least expect to.
